 Aude Extrémo’s aria recital

Concerto Budapest
Conductor: György Vashegyi

In French operas, mezzo-sopranos occupy a special and prominent place. We need look no further than Bizet’s Carmen or the female title role of Camille Saint-Saëns’s main operatic work, Delila. Therefore, a range of significant parts and popular hits are assigned to representatives of this voice type, of which one of the most exciting, Aude Extrémo, will be singing on the stage of the Grand Hall of the Liszt Academy for this romantic recital. She is an outstanding and acclaimed interpreter of the Italian and German, and particularly the French repertoire all around the world. Regularly employed by Mark Minkowski, the mezzo-soprano, who attracted international attention at the Salzburg Festival when singing the title role of Offenbach’s Périchole in 2018, will be conducted on this occasion by György Vashegyi. Their artistic cooperation dates back to 2021, when Aude Extrémo sang one of the main roles of Herculanum, a grandiose, French romantic opera by Félicien David, as a result of which the piece has not sunk into oblivion.
